Keeping your fingers warm and toasty

Being a gardener means spending a lot of time outside, and while the fresh air and natural beauty are some of the things we love about it, the extremes of weather can sometimes be a challenge. But as the saying goes, 'there is no such thing as bad weather, only unsuitable clothing.' One of the struggles that many gardeners face in the winter is keeping their fingers warm and toasty. Here's my approach to tackling this issue:

  • Invest in several pairs of waterproof, lined gloves: Having multiple pairs means you'll always have a dry, warm pair on hand, even if one pair gets wet or cold.

  • Keep gloves in an insulated bag with a hot water bottle: This will help to keep your gloves warm and toasty, even on the coldest days.

  • If gloves/hands get wet/cold, swap for a toasty dry pair from the bag: This way, you can keep working in the garden without having to take a break to warm up your fingers.

By following these tips, you'll be able to enjoy your time in the garden, even on the coldest winter days.
